Lee Roy A. Bjorklund, 91, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died on Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

Lee Roy Albert Bjorklund was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, on July 1, 1921, the son of Ingvald and Inga (Bjorklund) Bjorklund. He attended country school. After having served his country during World War II in the United States Army, he married Doris Kilen in Jackson, Minnesota, on March 13, 1949. She passed away on April 14, 1994. On May 3, 1997, he married Marian Morgan in Des Moines, Iowa. Roy owned and operated Bjorklund Trenching for many years, and he also worked at Deluxe Mfg./Fleetguard Industries before retiring after sixteen years of employment.

Very proud of his family, Roy loved that they all road motorcycles. He enjoyed old time dancing, CB/Hamm radio, horses, motorcycles, bananas, and camping.

Roy is survived his wife, Marian Morgan, of Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake, Iowa; his children, Richard (Terri) Bjorklund, of Bowie, Maryland, Debra Quattlebaum, of Aurora, Colorado, Robert (Thelma) Bjorklund, of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Russ (Donna) Bjorklund, of Albert Lea, Minnesota; his step-children, Cindy (Hank) Arth, of Independence, Missouri, Jeff (David) Morgan, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Becky Hancock, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and David (Anita) Morgan, of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren, Corey and Rheannan Quattlebaum, Casey Harris, and Matthew Bjorklund; two great-grandchildren, Coraleigh and Brooklyn Quattlebaum; his brothers, Kenneth (Garnet) Rajewsky, of Bowman, North Dakota, Herbert (Lois) Rajewsky, of Benson, Minnesota, Gale Bjorklund, of Alden, Minnesota, and Glenn Bjorklund of Redding, California; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Doris; and two brothers, Harold Rajewsky and Allen Bjorklund.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating. Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday evening, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, Iowa, and again one hour prior to the service at Salem Lutheran Church on Wednesday morning. Inurnment will take place at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Lake Mills, Iowa, with military rites conducted by Lake Mills American Legion Post #235. The family suggests that memorials be made to Youth for Christ/The Bridge, 213 West Main Street, Lake Mills, Iowa 50450.
