Lois became a member of the First Congregational Church in September, 1967, and remained an active member throughout the rest of her life, serving as Moderator, Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Bible School Leader, and President of Women's Fellowship. When something needed doing, she was there to share what she had.

For a number of years, Lois also worked as a Nurse's Aide and Homemaker, serving the elderly in the community.
