Rosie J. Meyer, age 92, of Lake Mills, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, Iowa.

The eighth of eleven children, Rosie (Seher) Meyer was born on December 31, 1920, in Streeter, North Dakota, to Peter and Carolina (Seidel) Seher. She grew up in Streeter, North Dakota, and graduated from Streeter High School in 1940.

On May 29, 1941, Rosie married Veryl Meyer in Gackle, North Dakota. To this union, three children were born.

Rosie and Veryl owned and operated the Scarville Food Market in Scarville, Iowa, and later the Lake Mills Locker.

In her spare time, Rosie enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, knitting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. Indeed, she loved spending time with friends and family and will be missed greatly.

Survivors include her daughter, Ginger (Paul) Nelson, of Mantorville, Minnesota; her son, Kim (Julie) Meyer, of Glenville, Minnesota; and her grandchildren, Jeremy Nelson, and his daughter, Cassandra, and Logan, Levi, and Isabella Meyer; very special friends, Ole and Sharon Rosen, of Scarville; and a sister, Leona Muller, of Lodi, California; along with other relatives and friends.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Veryl, on July 4, 2009; and a son in infancy; as well as her sisters; brothers; and in-laws.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating. Burial will be in Salem Memorial Cemetery, rural Lake Mills. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until service time at the church on Monday.
