Christopher Anderson
(November 8, 1971 - May 27, 2011)Christopher Gary Anderson, son of Gary and Karen (Althof) Anderson was born November 8, 1971, at Blue Earth, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1990, Christopher graduated from North Iowa High School, Buffalo Center. While in high school, he made FFA an important part of his life. Church was also a priority. He was very active at St. Paul’s Lutheran assisting with Vacation Bible School and Sunday School as well as collecting points to help those groups to receive free items.
An avid Star Trek fan who loved to sing, Christopher enjoyed helping his parents with recycling at Anderson Sanitation. Most importantly, however, he cherished his relationship with his nephew Matthew, whom he dearly loved.
With his family by his side, Christopher departed from this life on Friday, May 27, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, at the age of 39.
His memory will be cherished by his parents, Gary and Karen Anderson, Lakota; his sister, Nicki Long, and her special friend, Jason Wiley, and his son, Bradyn, of Algona; his nephew and best friend, Matthew Long, of Algona; his aunts and uncles: Lucille and Bruce Maakestad, of Mankato, Minnesota, Cliff and Marcie Anderson, of Mapleton, Minnesota, Allan and Karen Althof, of Guttenberg, Iowa, Sonja Kellogg, of Finmore, Wisconsin, Louis and Emily Althof, of Mason City, Iowa, and Joann Warner, Owasso, Wisconsin; his great aunts and uncle: Mryle and Clarice Anderson and Harriet Anderson, of Blue Earth, Minnesota; as well as many cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lakota, with Pastors Judy Junkermeier and Ron Wheeler officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the church.
