Robert D. "Click" Henderson
(October 29, 1927 - February 28, 2011)Robert D. “Click” Henderson, 83, of Lake Mills, Iowa, formerly of rural Emmons, Minnesota, died Monday, February 28, 2011, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, Iowa.
Robert D. “Click” Henderson was born October 29, 1927, on a farm south of Emmons, Minnesota, in Worth county, Iowa, where he lived until January of 2011. He was the son of Lawrence and Mae (Williams) Henderson.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Emmons Lutheran Church where he remained an active member his entire life. He graduated from Emmons High School with the “Class of 1945”.
On September 22, 1946, he married Dorothy Wampler. They resided on the farm where he continued farming and they raised their family. Robert also worked at the Wilson Packing Plant in Albert Lea, Minnesota, for twenty-four years.
He will be missed by his children, Marilyn (Ken) Tjaden, of Des Moines, Iowa, Charles Henderson and Marcia Pedersen (Rita Benson), of Lake Mills, Iowa, Steve Henderson, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Judy (Rick) Olson, of Rochester, Minnesota; Barb (Hayden) Bartholomew, of Anchorage, Alaska; eleven grandchildren, Tracy (Jeff) Biondi, Tammy (Clint) Fielding, Travis (Michelle) Henderson, and Aaron (Melanie) Henderson, Rachel Bolinger, Kevin (Kristy) Olson and Keith Olson, Lance Henderson, Jessica (Jr.) Davis, Mike (Kim) Olson and Brian (Emily) Olson; fifteen great-grandchildren, Allison, Emily, Grant and Carson Biondi, Cael and Carter Fielding, Landon Abele, Kaylee Henderson; Kayla, Courtney and Dakota Davis, Kadence and Austin Henderson, Madden Olson and Finleigh Olson; one brother Bill (Phyllis) Henderson of Worthington, Minnesota; and nieces Donna, Diane and Deb.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his son, Lynn; his daughter-in-law, Corliss; and an infant brother, Curtis.
Funeral service will be 1:30 PM, Friday, March 4, 2011, at the Emmons Lutheran Church in Emmons, Minnesota, with Pastor Julie Fiske officiating.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00, PM Thursday evening, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, Iowa 50450, and again at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Emmons, Minnesota.
