Imogene W. Schoenrock
(April 16, 1925 - December 7, 2010)Imogene W. Schoenrock, age 85, of Emmons, Minnesota, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
Imogene W. (Wilson) Schoenrock, the daughter of Hardie and James Teague Gaston Wilson, was born on the family farm in Cherokee County, Texas, on April 16, 1925. She attended Central High School.
On May 23, 1941, Imogene married Eugene Banks in Alto, Texas, a marriage which later ending in divorce. While employed as a welder at an aircraft assembly plant, Imogene met Claire Orlando Johnson, who was in the Army Air Corps at the time. The couple was wed on September 11, 1943, in Galveston, Texas.
In 1945, Imogene and Claire moved to North Iowa. Claire passed away in January of 1969.
On October 17, 1969, Imogene was married to Edgar Schoenrock at the Emmons Lutheran Church, and the couple resided in Emmons, Minnesota.
Imogene had been a member of the Emmons School Board. She was active in the PTA and held a number of jobs including: manager of the Emmons Superette, a foreman in the pressroom at Walker Deluxe, a bookkeeper for the Speltz Grain Elevator, and a tool crib operator at Cummins Filtration. Moreover, she played a central role in founding Schoenrock Printed Circuits in Lake Mills.
Imogene enjoyed her family. She collected many salt and pepper shakers, made numerous quilts, and liked bird watching at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Survivors include her children, Davie Jean (Rick) Lloyd, of Argyle, Texas, Claire (Ginny) Johnson, Jr., of Berne, Minnesota, and Burton (Patty) Johnson of Berne, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Sue (Buzzy) Cruseturner, of Texas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Imogene is also survived by Edgar’s children and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Claire and Edgar; a daughter, Ogreta Maureen, in 1950; a son, Bradley Alan, in 1955; and a sister, Ogreta Huttash.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 10, 2010, at Emmons Lutheran Church in Emmons, Minnesota, with Pastor Julie Fiske officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Emmons, Minnesota.
The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to services on Friday.
