Daryl Leibrand, age 62, of Buffalo Center, Iowa, died Thursday November 18, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa.

Daryl Keith Leibrand, second child born to Opal (Bell) and Melvin Leibrand, was born on June 3, 1948, in Buffalo Center, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in his faith at the United Methodist Church. Daryl grew up in Buffalo Center and graduated from high school in 1966. He furthered his education at the Dunwoody Institute, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He then went into business with his dad selling and repairing televisions and appliances. He purchased the business in 1989.

Daryl enjoyed earlier travels, fishing, bowling, football, and of course family gatherings. He also enjoyed his 17 nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Scott (Sue) Leibrand, of Urbandale, Iowa; his sisters: Roz (Butch) Swanson, of Buffalo Center, Iowa, Cheryl (Auggie) Baumann, of Buffalo Center, Iowa, Val (Steve) Johanson, of Forest City, Iowa, and Lori Leerar of Kasson, Minnesota; his aunts: Marj Sorenson and Almira Bell; as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Tyler Jacobs.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 4, 2010, at 1:30 PM at the United Methodist Church in Buffalo Center, Iowa, with Pastor Shannon Pascual officiating. Inurnment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the United Methodist Church in Buffalo Center.
