April 17 1903. A sad accident occurred on the farm of Mrs. John Ure near Scarville, Friday, which caused the death of Adolph aged 10, son of Mrs John Ure & Alfred aged 11, son of Mrs. William Ure. The two boys had been playing in the field in the morning & about noon came home eating a vegetable they had found. About fifteen minutes after their arrival home, one was taken violently ill with convulsions & died within the hour, the other lingering until nearly 5 o'clock. Dr's Gullixson & Christensen were called by telegraph from Lake Mills but did not arrive in time to be of any assistance, the boys dying in horrible agony. This is a sad blow to the mothers & they have the sincere sympathy of all as was shown by the large number of friends & relatives who gathered at the U L Church at Lake Mills Sunday afternoon to show their sympathy & respect. A remarkable coincidence is the fact that these two boy's fathers died about a year ago within the same week.
