Ruth T. Fisher
(January 11, 1913 - March 31, 2010)Ruth T. Fisher, 97, of Lake Mills, IA, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City, IA.
Mrs. Fisher was born on January 11, 1913, in Emmons, MN, the daughter of Asle and Ragnild (Dahlen) Kopseng.
She was baptized and confirmed at Silver Lake Lutheran Church. She attended rural schools and Lake Mills High School.
On December 6, 1936, she was united in marriage to Maurice E. Fisher in Bricelyn, MN. Maurice passed away on April 10, 1974.
Ruth has resided in Lake Mills since 1927. She loved the Lord and was a long time member of Salem Lutheran Church. She shared her Christian faith with everyone she touched. The Norwegian traditions she instilled in her family will be passed on for generations.
She was retired from the Lake Mills Care Center where she had worked as a nurse's aid for twenty-five years.
Ruth is survived by her loving family, Marilyn (Dennis) Brunsvold, Jeanne Robinette, Linda Nelson, all of Mason City, IA; Ellen Fisher of Des Moines, IA; Tim Fisher of Waverly, IA; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter Ramona; one infant daughter at birth, one son Mark and his wife Carolyn; brothers Martin, Tom, Chris and Otto; son-in-law Dallas Nelson, daughter in law Sue Pitts-Fisher.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, IA, with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating.
Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday evening at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, IA 50450, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will take place at Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills, IA.
