John Drugsvold 1881-1955

DRUGSVOLD, JOHNSON, FINSTER, CHRISTIAN, BLIKKEN

Clear Lake – John Drugsvold, 73, died at his home, 806 Main Ave., Saturday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the Ward Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. George Strum, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be at the Bethel Cemetery at Vinje, near Scarville.

Drugsvold was born March 30, 1881, near Scarville, the son of Andrew Johnson and Martha Drugsvold. He was a resident of that vicinity for the greater part of his life. He attended school there and became a railroad machinist. Later he homesteaded in Montana and then farmed in Iowa. He was married to Florence Finster of Marshalltown, and they lived at Long Beach, Calif. She died in 1941.

In January, 1952, he, his two brothers and two sisters moved to their present home in Clear Lake. Surviving him are his brothers, Chris and Louis Drugsvold, and two sisters, Marie and Lillian Durgsvold, all at Clear Lake; a brother, Dennis, Lake Mills; and two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Christian, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Elmer Blikken, West Hempstead, N.Y.; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
