Ronald Anderson
(April 30, 1939 - February 2, 2010)

Ronald Anderson, age 70, of Buffalo Center, IA, passed away on Tuesday February 2, 2010, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth, MN.

Ron was born April 30, 1939, to Archie and Etta (Holmseth) Anderson in Buffalo Center, IA. He was baptized and confirmed at Liberty Lutheran Church in Rake, IA. He graduated from Rake High School in 1956. He attended Mankato Commercial College for one year before returning to take over the family farm.

Ronald was united in marriage on April 8, 1972, to Joyce Beenken in Buffalo Center, IA. They lived and farmed the Anderson Family Farm. Their union was blessed by 2 daughters, Kristin Sue and Amy Michelle. Ronald loved spending time with his family, especially his 5 grandchildren. He was always ready to give tractor rides.

Ronald was a lifetime resident of the Rake/ Buffalo Center area. He was a member of the First Reformed Church where he served on the consistory as an elder and a deacon. He was on the Board of Directors at the Farmers’ Coop in Rake and a Lincoln Township Trustee. He was also presently serving on the Board of Directors for Winnebago Mutual Insurance.

Ronnie was very easy going and he could strike up a conversation with anyone. He had a heart of gold and cared deeply for those around him. He and Joyce enjoyed traveling with their 5th wheel camper. He also enjoyed reading, especially World War II history, and having a dog around the farm.

Ronald is survived by: his wife Joyce; daughters Kristin (Mark) Reese of Fort Collins, CO, and their children Zander and Caden; and Amy (Corey) Rasch of Bancroft, IA, and their children, Karissa, Caleb and Colin; 2 sisters Mavis Rasussen of Forest City, IA; Elaine (Dale) of Forest City, IA; 2 sister-in-laws LaRene Anderson of Winnebago, MN; Bev Anderson of Rake, IA; 1 brother-in-law Dean Beenken of Buffalo Center, IA; Several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister Beverly; 2 bothers Carlisle Anderson and Dale Anderson; 1 sister-in-law Julie Beenken; 1 brother-in-law Warren Rasmussen.

Funeral services for Ron will be 10:30am Friday at the First Reformed Church, Buffalo Center, with Pastor Bill Peake.

His visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Winter Funeral Home, Buffalo Center, and will continue 1 hour before the service at the church.
