Edward "Ed" Kaduce
(August 23, 1928 - February 1, 2010)

WINDOM, MN - Edward D. Kaduce, 81, of Windom, MN, died Monday (February 1, 2010) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Edward Duane Kaduce, the son of Daniel and Sena (Ruiter) Kaduce, was born August 23, 1928, at Goodell. He attended the Goodell and Thompson schools. Ed worked for Rock Island Railroad and then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving his country in Germany.

On August 26, 1951, he married Juanita Dalton at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in Garner and Forest City where they raised their family.

He later married Delores Seckar. Ed owned and operated a waste removal business in Garner for a number of years and later worked at Winnebago Industries in Forest City. Most recently, Ed was employed at Fountain Lake Treatment Center in Winnebago, MN, until his retirement.

On November 30, 1986, he married Janet French at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. The couple made their home in the Windom-Mountain Lake area for many years. He enjoyed playing pool, pheasant hunting, camping and fishing.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake.

Ed is survived by his children, Nancy (Roger) Hodson of Forest City, Julie (Butch) Hedges of Marshall, MI, and Karmon Kaduce of Algona; a son-in-law, Charles Ferguson of Algona; grandchildren, Bryan Hodson, Michael Hodson, Cheryl Hedges, Matthew Hedges, Wendy Ferguson, Heather Ferguson; great grandchildren, Natasha Hodson, Austin Hodson, Sean Hodson, Mia Hodson, Matthew Hedges and Elianna Hedges; step-daughter, Eva (Steve) Borer; step-grandchildren, Jesse and Mandie; step-great-grandchildren Hunter, Nellie, Hailey and Riley Borer; two brothers, Henry Kaduce of Garner, Richard (Ruth) Kaduce of Sauk Centre, MN; two sisters, Frieda DeToy of Canby, MN, and Delores (Don) Cole of Lake View; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Juanita and Janet; daughter, Sandy Ferguson; step-daughters, Sandra Lange and Kathy Sekar; sister, Arlene Pommrehn; and sister-in-law, Betty Kaduce.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday at the United Methodist Church in Forest City with Rev. Jerry Swanberg officiating. Burial will be 11 A.M., Saturday, at Mountain Lake Cemetery in Minnesota with military rites by the Veterans Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Petersen Lund Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
