Guy Markle
(September 23, 1935 - January 14, 2010)

Guy Romaine Markle, was born on September 23, 1939 in Canton, South Dakota to Cecil and Marie (Bakkene) Markle and passed away on Thursday January 14, 2010, at Hospice of North Iowa, in Mason City, Iowa.

Guy worked on Bridge Painting, at Winnebago, Forester’s and Farmed with Friesenbarg and Larson. He retired in September of 2003.

He Married Julie Sunde on June 28, 1980 in Forest City, Iowa.

Guy enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his children.

He is survived by: wife Julie Markle of Thompson, Iowa; children: Jeff Markle of Thompson, Iowa; Dave Markle of Manchester, Ohio; Lisa Pederson and husband Gary of Bondurant, Iowa; Geri Fardal of Crystal Lake, Iowa; Daniel and fiancé Natasha, of Westley, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; brothers Jim Markle and wife Larae of Canton, South Dakota; Steven Markle and wife Lee of Thornton, Iowa; sister Karen Markle and Tim Friesenbarg of Golden City, Mo; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by: his parents Cecil and Marie Markle; and two brothers: Guy Markle and Robert Markle.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson with Rev. Carlton Shaw. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson.

Visitation is Monday from 4 to 6 PM at Winter Funeral Home, 245 Harrison St., Thompson, and 1 hour before the service on Tuesday at the church.
