(January 9, 1938 - December 27, 2009)

Roger Glenn Peterson, 71, of Lake Mills, IA died Sunday December 27, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City, IA in the presence of his family.

Roger Glenn Peterson was born January 9, 1938 in Lake Mills Iowa to Perdean and Elnora (Holland) Peterson. He was baptized, confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. He attended Lake Mills High School. After high school he entered the USAF from 1955-1961

He was united in marriage to Frances Andersen on June 19, 1965, after returning to the Lake Mills Area.

Roger operated Roger G. Peterson and Sons Sanitation until he joined the Lake Mills Police Department as a patrolman for 20 years, he then worked at Fleetguard until his retirement. In 1969 he and Frances also started Three Oaks Greenhouse & Floral with the help of their four sons. This is still family owned and operated to this day.

Roger enjoyed roller skating, playing pool, fishing, horses and buggies, restoring old cars, traveling, gardening, rummage sales, collecting rocks, working with his sons on many special projects and being Santa Claus.

Roger is survived by his wife Frances and his children, Lynn (Judy), Robert (Pam), Debbie (Vance), Donald (DeAnn), Ron (Irma), Steve (Kathleen) and Ken (Theresa). 20 Grandchildren, Zach, Jeremiah, Andy, Bryan, Nick, Rosanne, Jessica, Danielle, Shane, Wade, Monica, Amanda, Patrick, Daniel, Angie, Anthony, Stephani, Krista, Brandon and Bryce. 15 Great Grandchildren, Maddie, Lily, Skylar, Ava, Talus, Andrew, Shae, Kennadee, Savannah, Abigail, Gavin, Aiden, Asher, Rozlynn, Cynthia. and also his beloved Pussycat. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Vernon (Bonnie), Ilene (Russ), Bev (Dennis), Sharon (Harlan), Dennis (Sandi), brothers and sisters in law, Merlyn (Karen), Lorraine (Paul), Gordon (Cruz), Roland (Judy), Joanne (Richard) and Mother In Law Lillian Andersen and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Perdean and Elnora Peterson.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM, Monday (1/4/2010) at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, IA, with Pastor Steve Smith.

Visitation will be 4-7 PM Sunday at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, IA 50450 and again at the church one hour prior to the service.

Burial will take place at North Prairie Lutheran Cemetery in rural Lake Mills, IA.
