C.H. LEE DIED FRIDAY; RITES HELD MONDAY

Funeral services for Christopher H. Lee, 76, who died at his home in Forest City Friday, were held Monday afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the pastor, Rev. A.L. Halverson, officiating.

Special music was furnished by Mrs. Joseph Peterson, organist, and Odvid Hagen, who sang. Pallbearers were Ole, Nels, Lars, Gustav and Woodrow Johnson, and Harold Olson. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.

His death followed several years of failing health. Mr. Lee was born at Fjell (aka Fjeld), Norway, January 9, 1873, the son of Hans Larsen and Gjertrude Simonsdatter. He was baptized and confirmed in Fjeld. He came to this country in 1892.

He was married to Martha Marie Johnson December 15, 1899 in Humboldt County, where both were working after coming from Norway. The moved to Illinois and lived there until 1915 when he brought his family to Forest City. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church here for 34 years.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Henry "Hank", Peter "Pete" and Clyde, and one daughter Gertrude (Mrs. R.D. "Butch" Richardson), all of Forest City; also four grandchildren.
