Larson, S.H., county treasurer -- Forest City -- born 14 March, 1857, in Belvidere, Ill. His parents had come from Telemarken, Norway, in the early fifties. In 1862 he moved with his parents to Winnebago county, Iowa, where they have resided every (sic) since. In his youth he worked on his father's farm and attended the common schools; at the age of twenty-three he commenced to clerk in a store at Lake Mills.

In 1882 he went to North Dakota, worked at various occupations, and was engaged in the mercantile business at Ottawa for three years. In 1886 he returned to Winnebago county; farmed for three years; was elected, on the Republican ticket, county treasurer in 1891, having since been re-elected twice to the same position.

He is a member of the United Norwegian Lutheran Church; and was married to Annie Bolstad, of Lake Mills, in 1894.
