Ellickson, James, state legislator -- Thompson -- born 4 Sept., 1859, at Mount Morris, Wis. His parents were Norwegians. He began to work in the pineries at the age of eighteen; but in 1881 left his native state and bought a tract of wild land in Winnebago county, Iowa, where he settled the next year, and has farmed there ever since. In 1891 he was elected to the state legislature on the Republican ticket.
