It looks like his father was Joseph Patrick Hood who was born in 1870 in Ontario, Canada. He died on November 25, 1925 and is buried in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Joseph Patrick Hood is enumerated in both the 1920 federal and the 1925 Iowa census so did not die in 1919. His parents came to Iowa also. William Hood died on May 22, 1885 in Clare, Webster, Iowa and his mother, Catherine (Malloy) Hood died in Fort Dodge on Christmas day, 1908. There are two obituaries for her in the Fort Dodge newspapers. I have included the link below. There is not one for Joseph Patrick online since the online database presently ends in 1924. He married Mary L. Sinnett on 26 February 1895 in Gilmore City, Pocahontas, Iowa.

Marjorie Fisher was born on August 24, 1903 in Duncombe, Webster County, Iowa to William N. and Mollie Fisher. There is a possibility that she was married on July 1, 1943 in Duncombe to Joseph E. Hood. She died in April 1982 in Fort Dodge, according to the SSDI.
