I understand there was a Webster Co., Sheriff by the name of Metzger and am so in hopes that someone would know of his family's whereabouts. I think his mother's name was Iola Metzger. I am trying to find out if there is any connection with a Nicholas Metzger that came to the US from Germany in 1882 and has not been found after the 1900 census of Clay Co., IA., where he was shown as divorced. His descendants in Germanny is searching for information on him. Would appreciated any leads, no matter how small.
