Brian Christopher Blaskey, 18, Dayton, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000 at his home. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Dayton Gym with Rev. Rudy DeRosa officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Lehigh. The family will greet friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of Carson Funeral Home in Dayton.

Brian Christopher Blaskey, son of Eugene and Bobbi Carpenter Blaskey, was born Feb. 21, 1982 in Webster City. He was a senior at Southeast Webster High School. During summer breaks, he was employed by Dekalb Seed Company and most recently, was employed by Menards in Fort Dodge. He was in football for three years, band two years, intramurals, and was an honor student. He was accepted to Iowa Central Community College for the fall. He competed in the VICA drafting competition in Bettendorf and placed fourth. He also competed in the lathe competition at ICCC and finished second and was awarded a scholarship for his achievement.

Survivors are his parents, Eugene and Bobbi Carpenter Blaskey of Dayton, brother Nick of Ruthven, maternal grandmother Ruth Carpenter, Lehigh, paternal grandparents Ed and Ellen Blaskey of Dayton and maternal great-grandmother Ruby Skeers of Boone.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Carrel Carpenter, maternal great-grandfather, Robert Flockhart and paternal great-grandparents Ruby Erickson and Andrew Blaskey.
