Place of Death: Kenneth L. Johnson 60, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at his home.

Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the United Methodist Church, Dayton, with Pastor Karen Young and Chaplain Nick Longworth of St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids officiating.

Burial will be at a later date.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday for visitation at the United Methodist Church in Dayton.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Sue Johnson of Harcourt; sons, Jarred (Heather) Johnson of Mt. Zion, IL, and Jeffrey (Tori) Johnson of Harcourt; daughter Jessica (Jimmy) Nunn of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Ivan and Erin Johnson, Cameron Johnson, and a grandson expected in June; sisters, Beverly (Jim) Greenfield of Littleton, CO, Mary (Tom) Martin of Orlando, FL, and Shirley Gustafson of Harcourt; mother-in-law Charlotte Smith of Jefferson; brother-in-law Rick (Starla) Smith of Ogden; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Arline Swanson Johnson; father-in-law Jack Smith; and brother-in-law Roland Gustafson.

Kenneth Lee Johnson was born February 29, 1952 at Fort Dodge, and graduated from Dayton High School, with the Class of 1970. He also graduated from Iowa Central Community College, with an Associate Degree in Business. In 1973, Kenneth began farming in the Harcourt area. He was united in marriage to Sue Smith on December 27, 1975. Kenneth was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dayton, and served on the Dayton Golf Course Board. He enjoyed hunting, camping, music, golfing, Iowa State, family, and grandchildren.
