Fort Dodge Messenger, Nov. 8, 1982

Norman D. Whitesell, 48, 912 S. 23rd St., died Sunday morning at Trinity Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Laufersweiler Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Remmes, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church at Barnum, con-celebrating the mass of the resurrection. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday with a parish rosary at 8 p.m. Monday with a parish rosary at 8 p.m. Monday.

Surviving are his wife, Francine; children, Charles and Marian, both at home; step-mother, Mrs. Hazel Whitesell, Fort Dodge; sister, Mrs. Zella Hayes, Webster City, and brother, Verne Williams, Webster City.

Norman D. Whitesell was born in Sioux City, and as a young child moved with his parents to Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and Fort Dodge Senior High, and earned his G.E.D. diploma in 1981 at Iowa Central Community College.

He married Francine Molumby in 1961 at Corpus Christi Church and they established their home in Fort Dodge. Mr. Whitesell became employed at Beisser Lumber Company in 1953 and worked there until 1979, when he retired due to ill health.
