MRS. PAREL'S FUNERAL

The funeral of Mrs. J. Parel ocurred on Monday at 10 o'clock from Sacred Heart church. Fathers Garland, of Eagle Grove, O'Brien, of Webster City, and Heelan, of Fort Dodge, officiated, Father Garland preaching the funeral sermon. The body was then taken to the Catholic cemetery for interment.

Mrs. Parel belonged to one of the first Catholic families of this community. She was loved and respected by all who knew her and leaves a family whose members by the merit and success demonstrate the mother training they have received. The funeral cortege was unusually large and attested to the esteem in which she was held. Many relatives and friends from out of the city were in attendance.

Those present were Mrs. M. Keenan and daughter, Miss Emma Keenan of Akron, Ohio. Mrs. Will Parel and Miss Mary Wade of LaSalle, Ill. F. E. Parel, Bridger, Montana. J.J. Parel, Winstone, Montana; and Walter Ford of Clare. The pall bearers were John Burns, Thos. Powers, Thos. Marooney, Walter Ford, Michael Foley and James Peters.

Mrs. Katherine Parel was aged 62 years having been born in Ireland. She came to Fort Dodge, March 31, 1866 and has resided here ever since. She leaves ten children, all of whom were at the funeral.
