JOHN PARLE DIES; RITES WEDNESDAY

John T. Parle, 94, retired farmer and long-time Webster county resident, died at Mercy hospital early Sunday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Parle, who had made his home at the hospital since 1952, would have observed his 95th birthday on Wednesday of this week.

Funeral rites are planned Wednesday morning at 8:30 at the Laufersweiler funeral home and at 9 o'clock at Sacred Heart church. Mr. Parle's son, the Rev. Thomas Parle, pastor of the Ayrshire Catholic church, will be celebrant of the solemn requiem high mass. Msgr. Ernest Graham of St. Cecelia's cathedral in Omaha, will serve as deacon of the Mass and the sub-deacon will Rev. David Hogan of Bemsen, formerly of Ft. Dodge and a grandnephew of Mr. Parle. Father Hogan is assistant pastor of St. Mary's parish at Bemsen.

The Rev. C.P. Sweeney, pastor of Sacred Heart church here, will preach the funeral sermon and the Rev. Peter Murphy, assistant pastor of Sacred Heart, will be master of ceremonies.

Burial will be in Corpus Christi cemetery.

Rosary rites are to be held Monday and Tuesday evenings at __ o'clock at the Laufersweiler funeral home.

Mr. Parle born Sep. 26, 1861, at La Salle, Ill.,was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Parle. He attended the school of La Salle. In 1878 he came to Iowa, settling at Villisca.

He was married on Aug. 24, 1889, to Miss Annie Hogan in Corpus Christi church in Fort Dodge. The couple farmed in Missouri, moving to Webster county in 1899 and settling on a farm east of Fort Dodge. They lived there until 1930, when they retired and moved into the city.

They moved into St. Anthony's home in Dubuque in 1944, in the interests of Mrs. Parle's health, returning to Fort Dodge in 1950.

Mr. and Mrs. Parle celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug 24, 1949 at Dubuque. Mrs. Parle was Fort Dodge's oldest, native-born citizen at the time of her death here in 1950.

Mr. Parle is survived by three sons, the Rev.Thomas Parle of Ayrshire, Harry V. Parle of Omaha, Neb., and Faber A. Parle of Fort Dodge. Ten grandchildren, 16 ?) great-grandchildren also survive. His wife, four grandchildren, one brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Parle had been a member of Sacred Heart church here since 1899.
