FUNERAL TO OCCUR- MONDAY
He Came to Fort Dodge to live in 1855- In 1870 moved to the family home in Colfax Township, five miles east of the City.

Today the death of another Webster county pioneer occurred- that of John Hogan, at his home five miles east of Fort Dodge. Deceased was past his 80th year, and death can be ascribed to his advanced age, rather than to any particular malady.
Mr. Hogan came to Fort Dodge in November 1855, and remained a resident here until October 1870, when he retired to the farm in Colfax township, which was his home at the time of his passing. Both in this city and in the neighborhood of his home he had a great many friends, who will be touched with sorrow when the news of his death reaches them. He had eight children, and seven of them are living in the county now, one having died.
The funeral will start from the family home at 9 a.m. Monday morning. Services will be at the Sacred Heart Church, Fort Dodge.
Submitter's note: John Hogan was married to Mary Williams who died 3 May 1897.
