Service Held For Mrs. E. Johnson

Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Johnson, 92, a long-time resident of Harcourt, were conducted Monday at the Faith Lutheran Church in Harcourt, Burial was in the Lost Grove Township cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, April 7, 1977, at the Grandview Care Center in Dayton, where she had been a resident for several years.

The Rev. L.E. Molgaard, Dr. Raynold Lingwall and Rev. Martin Lingwall took part in the services. Music was provided by Mrs. Gerald Danskin, soloist, with Mrs. Robert Johnson as the organist.

Pallbearers were Robert Engquist, Dennis Lambert, Jack Peterson, Don Hintch, Charles Peterson and Don Castenson. Mrs. Kenneth Selander and Mrs. Max Palmer had charge of the flowers.

Among the survivors are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Virginia Johnson, Long Island, N.Y. and several grandchildren.

She was born in Swede Home, Neb., and educated there. She worked in Omaha, Neb., prior to her marriage in 1914 to A.T. Johnson in Omaha.

The couple moved to a farm near Harcourt where they farmed until Mr. Johnson's death in 1938. Mrs. Johnson remained in Harcourt until entering the care center.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Harcourt.

Esther Olivia Toline was born January 12, 1885 and married December 9, 1914 in Omaha, Nebraska. They had one son, Lauren Johnson.
