William Rueben Lingwall
December 15, 1904 October 19, 1972

William Lingwall was born in Stromsburg, Nebraska, the son of Frank and Selma Lingwall. He grew to manhood in western Nebraska.

Bill came to Iowa in 1928, and was married to Leona Swanson in 1933. To this union was born one son, Richard.

He spent the last 25 years in the carpenter trade, and was very active in community affairs, serving as mayor of the town of Harcourt for the past twelve years. He was a member of the Lehigh Valley Telephone Board since its beginning.

Bill was a member of the Harcourt United Methodist Church for 42 years and was very active in church work. He served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years, was a member of the Administrative Board, church treasurer, a faithful choir member, and served as chairman of the recent redecorating project.

Bill is survived by his wife, Leona; one son, Richard, of Nevada, Iowa; his daughter-in-law, Marilyn; two grandsons, Nathan and Stephen; five sisters: Mrs. Olivia McDonald of Hastings, Nebr.; Mrs. Glenn Moore (Florence) of North Platte, Nebr.; Mrs. Gerald Danskin (Esther) of Norfolk, Nebr.; Mrs. Hubert Gessford (Ellen) of Montclair, Calif.; and Mrs. David Marymee (Leona) of Fremont, Calif.; three brothers: Martin and Edwin of Hastings, Nebr.; and Raynold of Des Moines, Iowa; one aunt, Mrs. Esther Johnson of Dayton, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
