Hulda Charlotte Monson Swanson

Hulda Charlotte Monson was born in Swede Bend, Hardin township, this county, June 23, 1860, where she grew to womanhood, and was married to Charles August Swanson on May 14, 1884. They moved the same year to this township where they have since lived. Twelve children have been born of their union, five of whom, four sons and one daughter preceeded her to that better land. Six sons and a daughter together with the bereaved husband survive to mourn her loss. Her death occured at her home on January 31st (1904), and her funeral was held from the Swedish M.E. church in Dayton, February 3rd, Rev. Stromberg, her pastor, conducting the services. Her remains were laid to rest in Dayton cemetery. Mrs. Swanson was a faithful member of the M.E. church at Harcourt, always consistent in her service to the Master. The many friends of the family sympathize with them in their loss of wife and mother.
