William Grant Boyd, age 76 of Gallatin, MO was born September 21, 1940 at home in Decatur County, Iowa to James Wilbur and Beatrice (Holybee) Boyd. He passed from this life March 6, 2017 at his home.

Bill started his education in Pomona, California, Later the family moved back to Iowa where Bill graduated Leon High School in 1959. He married Linda Lea Andrew September 24, 1959 in Leon, Iowa. They welcomed 4 children: Bea Ann; Tina Marcia; Weston (Sam) Klyne and James Wade.

Bill was a farmer and a business entrepreneur. He was never afraid to try something at least once from turkey farming, hog and cattle farming, to real estate as well as auctioneering but his first love was farming. He farmed in southern Iowa for several years. He built a large hog operation and had a feed store at Lucas, Iowa in the early 70’s. In 1974 he had growing pains and moved his family to Missouri on the JC Penney Farm outside of Jameson, Missouri renaming the property to Landmark Farms. Bill and sons, Sam and Jim put their heads together and decided to invest their spare time building a gun shop as a hobby and named it Zeroed Inn. That set up the desire to have a Sporting Clay Range. Anyone who came into the shop could quickly tell that Bill also loved to collect; arrowheads; old guns, oil cans and whatever caught his eye.

Bill always loved farming and having his two sons farm with him had always been a dream of his. Bill enjoyed people and especially his Intellectual conversations at the local coffee shop of a morning with the local farmers. He could tell you every farm and yields he ever produced but his best yield brag was his 4 kids. He was equally proud of each of them.

In 2012 between health problems and accident that left Bill with some physical limitations, he decided to get out of farming. In 2013 Bill and Linda retired and moved into Gallatin, Missouri.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents James and Beatrice Boyd; brothers, Jay Alfred and James Gilbert Boyd; sister, Rebecca Joyce Boyd.
