Janice went to grade school in Des Moines. Her folks bought a farm and moved near Lineville, Iowa. She went from eighth grade through high school there.

Janice married William Belvel in 1957, three children were born to them, Dayna, William, and Steve Belver. They later divorced and she married Hugh Holton. Two children were born to them, Hugh P. and Cinthia M. Holton. They later divorced and she married Billie Ross on October 21, 1989. They bought a house in Leon, where they lived until poor health forced Janice to go to the nursing home in April of 2015.

Janice had five children and Billie four. She said they could field a softball team. Janice’s stepchildren are Beth, Rick, Dave, and Mark Ross. She took great interest in her family. She liked to go camping and have cookouts with them.

She worked for O’Bryan Brothers for many years until she retired in 2009. Soon after her retirement, her health failed, but she did not complain. She kept a positive attitude and had a smile for everyone.
