MRS. IRA PORTER DEAD

Died Suddenly Sunday Morning at Her Home Near Humeston - Funeral Held Monday.

Mrs. Ira J. Porter, aged forty-eight years, died suddenly Sunday morning at her home three and one-half miles southeast of town. Mrs. Porter was apparently in the best of health Saturday. About 3:30 o'clock Sunday morning Mr. Porter was awakened by her struggles, and before assistance could be called, she had passed away without a moment's warning and within a very few minutes after she was seized with an attack of heart failure.

The funeral services were held at the Christian church at three o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. M. Thomas. Burial was made at the Humeston cemetery. Among the relatives present at the funeral was a brother of Mrs. Porter's, R. V. Coleman and wife of Kansas City.

The following obituary was read at the funeral:

Coleman of Kanas City, and one sister, Mrs. Rose Grosecost of Van Wert, Ohio.

Mrs. Porter was baptized by Rev. D. C. Rains in 1878 and for many years was a member of the Methodist church. In 1911 she united with the Christian church at Mansfield, Oregon.
