OBITUARY

Duncan McRae was born at Point Aux Barques, Michigan, December 7th, 1869. He was baptized in the Christian church June 15th, 1888, at Ravanna, Mo., were his parents moved when he was a year old. He was made a deacon immediately after his admission into his home church, of which his father was an elder and also the minister at that time.

Since 1892 he has lived in Humeston, where he was joined in marriage to Miss Jennie L. Buck, on August 26, 1897. Four children were born to them, three girls and one boy, all of whom are living.

He had an implicit confidence in God as his Father. He was ready to go, though his great desire was to be with his family and to live for them. He knew when death was about to claim him, talked sensibly about it as going to his better home and bid his wife good bye. Mr. McRae was a boy of spotless character, truthful, honest, trustworthy and obedient to his parents. His manhood was of the same type. He was respected by all who knew him.
