STEPHEN McDOUGAL

Stephen Samuel McDougal was born of parents Andrew and Arminta McDougal on a farm west of Lineville, Missouri April 26, 1906. He died at the Wayne County Hospital, Corydon, Iowa, March 20, 1987 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 20 days.

He was married to Mabel Sears December 26, 1931. To this union, three sons and one daughter were born.

He spent most of his life farming in Wayne County. He was active with 4-H and served on the Wayne County Mutual Insurance board for many years. McDougal was a member of the Corydon Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richard Lee McDougal, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are his wife, Mabel, two sons, Dale McDougal of Ankeny, Dennis McDougal of Osceola and one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Bloom of Cummings. Also, three sisters, Velma Reeves, Ora Yingling and Lola Brassfield; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He will be missed by his family who loved him dearly and a host of relatives and friends.

Services were held Saturday, March 21, 1987, at 2:00 p.m. from the Corydon United Methodist Church with Rev. James Ford and Pastor Kent McDougal officiating. The hymns "Good Night and Good Morning" and "Amazing Grace" were sung by Margaret Perking with Ruth Barker organist.
