USHER, Marcia Belle, 71, of Humeston, Iowa, died on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Bright Kavanaugh Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the Humeston Baptist Church in Humeston, with Pastor Dale O'Connell officiating. Interment was held in the Humeston Cemetery, Humeston, Iowa. Arrangements were through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home of Leon and Lamoni, Iowa.

MARCIA BELLE USHER ... Marcia Belle Usher, age 71 of Humeston, Iowa, the daughter of Lester Ernie and Mildred May [Russell] Leech, was born in Humeston on April 29, 1941. She died at the Bright Kavanaugh Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, January 19, 2013.

Marcia graduated in 1959, the last class to graduated from Humeston High School. She then attended and graduated from AIB College in Des Moines. She worked as a cashier at the Hotel Fort Des Moines for years. She made many life long friends there.

She married Jim Usher on November 21, 1973. Soon after, they moved to Dearborn, Michigan where Jim worked for Ford Motor Company. In 1987 Jim retired and they moved to Humeston. Marcia was active in the Humeston Baptist Church and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Jim passed away on June 8,1994. For the past 16 years, Marcia has enjoyed the companionship of Craig Gibbs. They enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing Cribbage, watching sports on TV, and eating out together. She also enjoyed her dog Tippy.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband Jim Usher. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Les and Darlene Leech of Des Moines; nieces and nephews: Brian Leech, Sherry Lee, Lisa Young, Phil Leech, and Tammy Walls and their families; aunts, Mary Lou Pilkington of Des Moines and Juanita Reichert of Williamsburg, Iowa; uncle Harry Russell of Hampton, Iowa; companion Craig Gibbs of Humeston; cousins; and other relatives and friends.
