CLOW, Adah Fern, 89, of Clio, Iowa died on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Home in Lineville, Iowa, with Pastor Ron Helton officiating. Interment was held in the Clio Cemetery, Clio, Iowa.

ADAH FERN CLOW ... Adah Fern Clow, daughter of Orville Christopher and Cosie Belle [Overstreet] Mills, was born near Winigan, Missouri, on January 28, 1923, and passed away on January 29, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 89 years.

Fern was first married to Kenneth Elliott, and to this union two children were born, Judith Sina and Kenneth Theodore Elliott.

On March 26, 1961, Fern was united in marriage to Dale Kenneth Clow.

Dale preceded her in death on July 5, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Kenneth Elliott; her daughter, Judith Sina Elliott; her son, Kenneth Theodore Elliott; two brothers, Homer and Gene Mills; one sister, Edna Bunton; and by a half-brother, Dale Mills.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Kevin D. Elliott (and his wife, Amy) of St. Louis, Missouri, Keith Elliott (and his wife, Susan) of St. Charles, Missouri, Kim Wilson of Aledo, Illinois, and Kristine Elliott of Chicago, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, and Ammanda Elliott, and Quinton Wilson; two sisters, Alma Nickell of Browning, Missouri, and Leona Alexander of Moberly, Missouri; one brother, Franklin D. Mills (and his wife, Phyllis) of Greentop, Missouri; four half-sisters, Joanne Simpson (and her husband, Jack) of Brookfield, Missouri, Donna Chavez (and her husband, Luis) of Kirksville, Missouri, Betty Ault 9and her husband Jerry) of Brashear, Missouri, and Judy Mills of Kirksville, Missouri; a half-brother, Dean Mills of Kirksville; and by other relatives and friends.

Fern was raised in Linn County, Missouri, where she attended the Hill School. She and Dale lived on their farm near Clio, Iowa, most of their married life. Other than being a hard working farm wife and homemaker, she also worked as a wall paper hanger, and painter. As hobbies, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing, playing bingo, and going to the casino boat on occasion.

In 1989, Fern and Dale moved from the farm to Mercer, Missouri, where they attended the Mercer Baptist Church.
