Isaac was the 2nd of 10 children born to Vinson S. Nash & Parthena Chipman, and came to Iowa by covered wagon in 1855, farmed 266 acres and served 5 terms as Justice of the Peace. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He married Elizabeth O'Neal, of Cincinnati, OH., Feb. 13, 1851. They had 5 children: Vinson Byron, John Dillon, Laura Alice, Isaac Newton, and an infant
