Looking for John Brown who was in Washington County, Iowa in 1855-56 with his son Peter Brown, who married Martha Ann Thurman during this time in Washington County, Iowa. Peter then went back to Knox County, Illinois and remained there the rest of his life. John, his father, disappeared off the census reports. I have found a John Brown who died Oct 28, 1858 and is buried in Richmond Cemetery - anyone know information about him - whether there was a wife, other children other than Peter or if these two even belong to each other. Anyone have any information?
