Norbert TeBockhorst dies during night
KALONA - Norbert TeBockhorst of 711 East Main Street in Washington died early today while en route to the Washington County Hospital, following a sudden illness.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Peterseim Funeral Chapel at Kalona with burial in Elm Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Edward J. Shepherd will conduct the rites. Visitation will start at Peterseims, Sunday morning.
Mr. TeBockhorst was born near Kalona Oct. 28, 1915, a son of Leo and Mary Shalla TeBockhorst. He married Una Strandberg Aug. 17, 1964 and had lived in Washington for 12 years. He was a painter and fur dealer.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Tom of Chicago, Terry of Minneapolis, Tim of Chicago and Ted of Washington; two step-children: Mrs. Paul Bair Jr. of Oskaloosa and Gene Strandberg f Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Mary TeBockhorst of Kalona; two brothers, Robert of Kalona, and Richard of Washington; and two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Norma June) Allen of Kalona, and Mrs. Wilbur (Bernadette) Prybil of Washington.
