Helen Agnes Welte was born October 14, 1897 at Richmond, a daughter of Anthony and Caroline Casper Welte. On May 30, 1916 she was married to Leo (Jim) Keifer. They resided in the Richmond community since that time.
Funeral services were held at the Holy Trinity Church at 9 o'clock Tuesday, November 12 with the Rev. Fr. LeRoy Bergthold saying requiem mass. Interment in the Holy Trinity Cemetery. The Peterseim Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Keifer is survived by her husband; two sons, Howard, Kalona; and Eugene, Iowa City; one daughter, Mrs. Al (June) Iverson, Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. W.J. Keifer, Washington and Mrs. Roy Kallaus, Richmond; also nine grandchildren.
One daughter, four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
