Menno I. Miller, son of Isaac and Sarah (Kauffman) Miller, was born at Bakersville, Ohio, on November 29, 1892, and died June 21, 1977, in his home near Kalona, Iowa, at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 22 days. On January 18, 1917, he was united in marriage to Susan Schlabach. He grew up in Holmes County, Ohio; after his marrage they lived in Indiana until 1952 when they moved to their Kalona home. He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters and 4 sons, Mrs. Albert H. (Elva) Miller, Kokomo, Ind., Sara at home; Ivan, Elkhart, Ind.; David, Grove City, Minn.; Levi, Kalona, Iowa; Moses, Doniphane, Mo.; also 31 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Levi, Plain City, Ohio; Moses, Kalona; two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Sarah) Erb, Sugarcreek, Ohio; and Mrs. David (Anna) Barkman, Baltic, Ohio. He was preceded in death by five sisters. Services were held in the home by Bishop Noah Hostetler, Kokomo, Ind., and the home Bishop Elmer T. Miller; in the barn by Minister Jonas E. Helmuth, Hazelton, Iowa, and Bishop George Gingerich, Bloomfield, Iowa. Burial in the Peter Miller Cemetery northeast of Kalona, Iowa.
