Mrs. Stagner
KALONA - Mrs. Mabel Stagner, 75, a a lifelong resident of this area, died today at a Wellman nursing home where she had lived for several months.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Kalona Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lowell Drake officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery. The body is at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.
She was born March 28, 1892, in Richmond, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Shebeck Chez.
She married Lloyd Stagner at Richmond, June 24, 1914, he died in June.
She taught a number of years in Johnson and Washington County rural schools, and after retirement was a telephone operator in Kalona.
Mrs. Stagner was a member of the Naomi Chapter Eastern Star and the Kalona Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Vernon, of Kalona; two grandchildren; a brother, Joe Chez of Ontario, Calif.; and five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Malichky or Richmond, Mrs. Esther Nicholson of Farson, Iowa, Mrs. Edith Wilson of Garden Grove, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Ross of Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Violet Less of Los Angeles.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.Funeral Card
