Wino C. Strabala, lifelong resident of Richmond, died Sunday evening, January 1, 1967 at the Mercy Hospital, following a short illness at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 9 days.
Funeral services were held this morning, Thursday, January 5 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Richmond. The Rev. Fr. William V. Snell said requiem mass. Interment was made in the Holy Trinity Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Peterseim Funeral Service.
A son of Lawrence and Mary Pieper Strabala, Wino was born January 22, 1889 at Richmond. On October 13, 1915 he was married to Villa Schmitt.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, Maurice and James of Richmond, Larry of Iowa City; four daughters, Mrs. Paul Armbruster and Mrs. Francils Armbruster, both of Riverside, Mrs. C.A. Conelly, Anamosa, and Mrs. Kenneth Layton, of Santa Ana, California: 27 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Harry of Richmond, Harold of Leetonia, Ohio, Lon of Beloit, Ohio; and two sisters, Margaret Sterling of Davenport and Mrs. Norman Lissman of Struther, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
