Mrs. Lawrence F. Duwa, lifetime resident of the Kalona area, died Friday, October 14, 1966 at the University Hospital, Iowa City after a short illness.
Agnes Bopp was born December 11, 1897 in Washington County, the daughter of John and Catherine Rotenburger Bopp.
She was married to Lawrence F. Duwa June 18, 1919. The couple farmed south of Kalona for 47 years.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Dale of Keota, Clifford of Wellman and Dean of Kalona; eight daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Lucille) Duwa, Mrs. Dwayne (Cleola) Schneider, Mrs. Olin (Vera) Gingerich, Mrs. Leo (Delores) Krotz, all of Iowa City; Mrs. Ralph (Velma) Waldschmidt, Riverside; Mrs. Freddie (Elaine) Lee, Kalona; Mrs. Dennis (Irma) Altenhofen, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Merlin (Janet) Hagie, Davenport and 37 grandchildren.
Also surviving are one stepbrother, three half-sisters and three half-brothers.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Richmond, on Monday, October 17. The Rev. Fr. William V. Snell said the requiem Mass. Interment was made in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Peterseim Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
