Mrs. H. Malichky Taken In Death Tuesday, Aug. 17
Mrs. Harry Malichky Sr. died at the Mercy hospital in Iowa City on Tuesday afternoon, August 17, 1965 after a short illness.
Born December 14, 1895 near Riverside, Emma was the daughter of Vincent and Mary Pribyl Sojka. She was 69 years, 8 months, and 3 days of age at the time of her death.
She was married to Harry Malichky on October 7, 1914. The couple farmed southeast of Kalona until moving to town several years ago.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Hubert, Riverside; Harry Jr., Iowa City; one daughter, Mrs. Curtis Figgins, Kalona; eight grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Wes, Riverside and Milt of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Kosnar. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock Friday, August 20 at the Peterseim Funeral Chapel and at the Riverside Methodist Church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Lowell Drake was the officiating minister. Interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery.
