FUNERAL MONDAY, FOR WILLIAM STOCKMAN, 72
Native of County Dies at Home of Son in Boulder, ColoradoFuneral services for William Stockman, 72, life-long resident of Washington county, who died Monday afternoon, Sept. 20 in Boulder, Colo., will be held here Monday afternoon, Sept. 27 at the Jones funeral home. Services will be in charge of Rev. Fred E. Miller and burial will be in the Brighton cemetery.
Mr. Stockman died at the home of a son in Boulder where had been saying for the past few months. He had been in failing health for the past year.
William Stockman was born near Brighton March 2, 1876, the son of W.T. and Emmie Stockman. He was reared and educated in the Eureka and Indian Creek communities. He married Anna Elizabeth Dencker who preceded him in death May 14, 1926. Mr. Stockman was a member of the Methodist church and had been a farmer most his life until his retirement because of ill health.
Survivors include nine sons: Louis, Jack, and Sam of Davenport, Ivan and Clark of Toledo, Ohio, Virgil of Winfield, William I. of Wayland, Lee of Boulder, and Joe of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Eugene Martin of Washington, Mrs. Mildred Pine (sic) of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. John Schaefer of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Mrs. O.E. Schmitt of Washington. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
