William Matthew Blair, 85, of Millersburg, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home after a sudden illness. Mr. Blair was born June 16, 1926, the son of Oscar Rude and Jessie Mae (Jordan) Blair. He married Charlene Ruth Blakeman on Sep 22, 1965, in Dubuque. Surviving are his wife Charlene of Millersburg; eight children, Ramona Loghry and husband Orville of Des Moines, Juanita Young and husband Mike of Cedar Rapids, Rosa Balir of Cedar Rapids, Christina Blair of Cedar Rapids, Patricia Blair of Cedar Rapids, William Michael Blair of Iowa City, Melissa McDowell and husband John of North English, and Rebecca Chapula of Millersburg; four stepchildren, Steven Johnson of Virginia, Tim Johnson of North English, and Lori Snyder of Waterloo; 31 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Merle James of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Alverda Duffy; and three brothers, Kenneth, Pat and Francis.
