Ruth Ellen Sellars, 93, formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, in the Halcyon House in Washington. Mrs. Sellars was born March 30, 1918, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Charles O. and Gertie Ellen (Graham) Carter. She married Jack H. Sellars on May 27, 1941. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 14, 2011; two brothers, Claude and Leland Carter; and three sisters, Oral Hall, Helen Clarke, and Gayle Eland.
