Marion Lorena Steckel, 94, of Davenport, died Monday, July 4, 2011, in Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park, in Davenport after a brief illness. Mrs. steckel was born in 1916 in Crawfordsville, the daughter of David R. and Georgia A. Williams. She married Benjamin P. Steckel on July 18, 1948, in Crawfordsville. Surviving are one daughter, Melanie Steckel and husband Darrell Orman of Blue Grass; one son Jed of Davenport; four grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Elberta Steckel of Madison, WI.; and two nieces. she was preceded in death by her husband, in 2003; one son, Joel William Steckel, in 1973; and one brother, Wayne Williams, in 1984.
