FUNERAL SATURDAY FOR JOHN W. LONG

Funeral services for John William Long, 73, of Washington, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 9, in Sherman's funeral home.

Rev E. C. Longfellow will be in charge. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Mr. Long died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday following a serious illness of three months. He had been in failing health for a number of years.

Born in County

Mr. Long was a life-long resident of this community. He was born Jan. 28, 1879 in this county, the son of William E. and Mary (Doran) Long.

He was married here in 1901 to Della L. Sage who died April 16, 1936.

He was a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge.

Survivors include six sons: Dale of Chicago, _____ and _____ of Washington, Clifford of Oskaloosa, Richard of Rock Island, Carl of Indianapolis, Ind; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Ayers of Washington and Mrs. Harold Walraven of Oskaloosa; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ned Long of Tulsa, Okla., Ben Long of Coffeyville, Kansas, Wisle Long of Washington, and Robert Long of Venita, Okla.; and one sister, Mrs. William Sims of Sweetwater, Texas.
