Geraldine Meeker Schomberg, 96, of Letts, died Friday, Aug 6, 2010, in Trinity Hospital in Muscatine. Mrs. Schomberg was born Jan 25, 1914, near Cranston in Muscatine County, the daughter of Wilbur Ernest and Effie A. (Shires) Meeker. She married Frederick Max "Ted" Schomberg on Aug 14, 1935, at the Meeker home near Cranston. Surviving are three children, Steven Frederick Schomberg and wife Janice of Iowa City, Judith Carlson and husband Carl of Battle Lake, MN, and Nancy Abney and husband Glenn of Tucker, GA.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Martha Jean Nichols of West Liberty. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Joseph Meeker; three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Florence and Dell Raymond, Louise and John Padgett, and Kathryn and Robert Goddard; and one brother-in-law Donald Nichols.
